The annual French Broad River Classique Canoe & Kayak Race is a two-day, 34 mile, USCA sanctioned event that is held on the fourth weekend of April (2012 dates are April 28-29) near Asheville, North Carolina. The Classique is for experienced racers (we do have an 8 mile Fun Race on the Sunday for novice racers). There are separate awards for each of the two days of racing. Competitors are permitted to switch to a different boat, or even a different class, for the second day, but there are also awards for the combined times over the two days. We hope you can join us for one or both days.
In June of 2012, FB Canoe Racing will host the ACA White Water Open Canoe Downriver National Championships on the Nantahala River near Topton, North Carolina. The four-day event is returning to the Nantahala for the first time in nine years.
