FB Paddle Racing, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose purpose is to foster competition in all types of paddlesports racing, particularly on the French Broad River in western North Carolina. Our primary event is the two-day FRENCH BROAD CLASSIQUE, held annually on the fourth weekend of April (2015 dates are April 25-26) near Asheville, North Carolina. The French Broad Classique has paddling events for competitors of every experience level and craft: canoes, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards. Competitors can come for one or both days and are welcome to switch to different boats or different classes.

Our long time sponsor and good friend, RiverLink, has an event going on at the same time as this year's French Broad Classique that might be of interest to the non-racers coming into town. Come celebrate with RiverLink at their Earth Day Children's Festival at RiverLink's Performance Park, 144 Riverside Drive, on April 25 from 11:00 to 3:00. Enjoy an afternoon filled with a blow up bounce house, face painting, exciting crafts, educational lessons, games, food and fun! For information, contact Adam at RiverLink.

FB Paddle Racing has hosted two National Championships on the French Broad River: the 2014 USCA Aluminum Canoe/Downriver Kayak Nationals in Henderson County (upstream of Asheville), and the 2008 ACA Whitewater Open Canoe Downriver Nationals in Madison County (downstream of Asheville).

In addition to hosting the FRENCH BROAD CLASSIQUE, FB Paddle Racing helps to promote paddle sports races in North Carolina and neighboring states. Click here to access information on other races.
